Vulnerable People, Zinc Media Group - Corporate Image/Attitudinal Training. The Grand Award winning film was created for Network Rail (NR), the owner and infrastructure manager of the railway network in the UK, to provide NR personnel tasked with handling the delicate situation of the public trespassing on NR infrastructure and how to address the daily risk across the rail network. The film was designed to keep the viewer guessing how it would resolve, to draw them in and remind them that potential fatalities can arise not necessarily from a failure of protocol but by failing to connect separate reports and taking appropriate action.
Peaky Blinders, Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions for BBC One - Entertainment Program/Drama earned the 2023 Grand Award. Set in Britain in 1919, with the nation cleaned out by the extravagances of the Great War, the series chronicles Thomas Shelby and his family who run the most feared and powerful gang, the Peaky Blinders. Named for their practice of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps, they make money from illegal betting, protection, and the black market. In season 6, Tommy faces his demons in an epic final showdown.
Naked - Sex and Gender: 1. Born Unequal, 2. Finally Grown Up, German Television ZDF - Documentary/Human Concerns. The Grand Award winning documentary explores the idea that a purely polar view of the sexes is no longer an option. The awareness of the diversity of the sexes, the fluidity of gender identity and the relativity of its classification has increased, due to the emergence of diverse minorities. The production details the sometimes uncontradicted journey through the variety of identities, feelings, fears, and joys urging that... We need to talk. With each other. Now.

Publishers & AI - The Evolving Love Hate Story
Generative AI can be used to create new content from scratch, such as news articles, product descriptions, or social media posts. However, it's important to note that while generative AI can produce high volumes of content quickly, the quality may not always meet the standards of original content, so bring in the human element to balance it.
1. Content augmentation: Generative AI can be used to augment existing content by generating additional content that complements or expands on the original. For example, a generative AI tool can be used to create blog post summaries or social media captions for existing content.
2. Personalization: Generative AI can be used to personalize content for individual users based on their interests and preferences. For example, a generative AI tool can be used to create customized email newsletters for subscribers based on their reading history.
3. Content suggestion & optimization: Generative AI can be used to optimize content for search engines and other discovery platforms. For example, a generative AI tool can be used to create headlines or meta descriptions that are more likely to attract clicks.
4. Idea generation: Generative AI can be used to generate new ideas for content creation based on trends, keywords, or other parameters. For example, a generative AI tool can be used to suggest new topics for blog posts or video content.
5. Translation Services: Generative AI can be used to automatically translate content into multiple languages, allowing publishers to reach a global audience more easily.
Perils of AI for the original content publishers
1. Legal Issues: One of the biggest risks is the possibility of violating copyright laws. Generative AI has the capability to produce content that could potentially be similar to or even identical to existing content, which could lead to legal issues and infringement claims.
2. Quality and Originality: Generative AI can produce large amounts of content in a short amount of time, but the quality and originality of the content may be lacking. AI-generated content may lack the depth and complexity that human-generated content can provide, leading to lower engagement and a lack of interest from readers.
3. Brand Reputation: Using generative AI for content creation can also damage a brand's reputation if the quality of the content produced is below par or if the content is found to be plagiarized. This can lead to a loss of trust from readers and a negative impact on the brand's image.
4. Over Dependence on Technology: Relying too heavily on generative AI for content creation can also create a dependence on technology that may be difficult to break. This can limit a publisher's ability to think creatively and come up with original content ideas, leading to a lack of diversity in the content produced.
5. Devaluation of original content: If generative AI is widely adopted, it could lead to an oversupply of content, which could decrease the value of original content. Publishers may need to find new ways to differentiate their content to remain competitive.
6. Ethical concerns: Generative AI can be used to create content that is misleading, deceptive, or harmful. Publishers must consider the ethical implications of using AI to create content and ensure that they are using the technology responsibly.
How to control AI from unauthorized content crawling
It is not possible to completely prevent AI from crawling online content because search engines and web crawlers are essential tools used by search engines to index and rank web pages. However, there are a few ways that online content creators can make it more difficult for AI to crawl their content:
1. Use Robots.txt: Content creators can use a robots.txt file to instruct web crawlers on which parts of their website they do not want to be crawled. This file can help exclude certain pages or directories from being indexed by search engines.
2. Implement CAPTCHA: Implementing a CAPTCHA on the website can prevent automated scripts or bots from crawling the website. This can be an effective way to stop unwanted crawling by bots.
3. Use JavaScript: JavaScript can be used to block bots from crawling the website by displaying content only when certain actions are taken on the website.
4. Use "noindex" tags: "Noindex" tags are HTML tags that can be added to individual pages to instruct search engines not to index them. This can be useful for pages that contain sensitive or private information that should not be publicly accessible.
5. Implement access controls: Content creators can use access controls, such as passwords or user accounts, to restrict access to certain pages or sections of their website. This can help to limit the exposure of sensitive content to unauthorized users, including web crawlers.
6. Use content delivery networks (CDNs): CDNs can help to limit the visibility of a website's origin server and make it more difficult for web crawlers to access content.
Generative AI can be a powerful tool for original content publishers, allowing them to create more personalized, optimized, and engaging content for their audiences. However, it's important to use these tools responsibly and ensure that the content produced is still unique and valuable to readers. While generative AI can provide new opportunities for content creation, it's important for publishers to approach it with caution and weigh the potential risks and benefits before incorporating it into their content strategy.
Ultimately the power should rest with original online content creators to determine the level of access they want to provide to their content and the potential risks associated with blocking access to their content for AI and its human users. I strongly believe that some Legal and governmental controls will come in sooner or later in this space.

The One Club and AIR Announce Expanded Equify Diversity Certification Program
Global online audio program for agencies, brands and individuals builds a shared foundation of DEIC best practices throughout all levels of an organization.
The One Club for Creativity and Allies in Recruiting (AIR) have launched an expanded version of their successful Equify diversity training and certification program to help both senior executives and staff create more inclusive and equitable practices throughout their organizations.
Equify was developed for AIR in 2020 by James Nicholas Kinney, global chief people officer, MediaMonks, and an AIR founding partner and board advisor, to fill a void in the ad industry and establish foundational best practices for inclusion education across organizations. AIR became part of The One Club in July 2022.
The audio program (with closed captioning available) goes into detail about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and how it affects work culture. Equify uses simple and clear examples to cover topics across generations, cultural and gender identity, accessibility and ableism, sustainability, and more, to unite, mobilize and create changemakers within an organization.
Equify is designed for everyone — from senior executives, hiring managers, talent and HR teams, to any employee who participates in hiring or wants to create a more inclusive culture in their workplace. It is the only certification designed to bridge the knowledge gap between how organizations hire talent, and how diverse talent can be supported, included, and retained.
The global program now includes two separate courses, each structured like a podcast. Equify 1.0 covers why the program was created, the current challenges within DEIC, and offers tools for success. It consists of 10 chapters covering topics including the business and legal cases for DEIC, the impact of unconscious bias, building effective programs and policies, and others.
The new Equify 2.0 spans 11 chapters, addressing subjects including environmental, social and governance (ESG) and DEIC, how and why to collect diversity data, mental health and diversity, and others. The courses reflect Kinney's engaging personality, taking an enjoyable, relatable approach to the subject matter.
"I'm in war mode, and in a war mood, in order to get DEI and culture back on track.” said Kinney. “We've made so much meaningful progress, but now is not the time to go to sleep on the mission. Our industry is shifting by the day, and Equify gives us a common language of belonging and a knowledge base to unify. This moment and the new era of creativity is about knowledge, facts and growth, not fear."
The initial program has already been well received in the industry.
“In the last few years, we’ve seen so many impactful but disconnected ED&I efforts in our industry,” said Dani Herrera, director, Recruitment Operations & DEI at R/GA. “I see Equify as a cornerstone and the foundation of ED&I knowledge that pushes our industry to achieve sustainable, collective, and meaningful change.”
Mabel Liang, senior talent acquisition partner at Nike, added “Equify boosted my understanding of DEIC and the ways to navigate stakeholders. It breaks the content down into short sessions with a theme and structure like a podcast, making it easy to listen to at our own pace. Not only is it energizing and thought-provoking, but it also provides practical strategies for every person in the workforce.”
Alexa Zonsius, managing director, creative talent, Genuine Search Group and an AIR managing partner, said the broader scale of the expanded Equify program stands out from other programs in how it addresses both talent acquisition and retention to drive lasting change.
“It defeats the purpose of hiring people of marginalized communities if their manager, co-workers, and leaders don’t also foster that talent and ensure growth,” she said. “Talent Acquisition, HR, and DEIC can't do this work alone. Equify is unique in how it bridges the gap between talent acquisition and retention, and speaks directly to leaders and managers to course correct internal structures that have repeatedly held back diverse talent.”
“True long-term change requires education for all members of an organization,” said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club. “We’re proud to work with AIR on this expanded Equify program designed to build a shared foundation of diversity and inclusion knowledge, understanding, and best practices for both leaders and teams at agencies and brands.”
Equify is the latest in a long history of DEI programs available from The One Club, including the annual Where Are All The Black People diversity conference and job fair, ONE School free portfolio program for Black creatives in the US and UK, ONE Production training program for BIPOC creatives, global Creative Boot Camps, and more.

The most popular shows—and new series—of 2022
Global: The most popular shows—and new series—of 2022
New hits, old favorites and spin-offs led us through another year of streaming TV.
The return of modern classics in the forms of a Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon, and Amazon Prime Video’s prequel to The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power and an abundance of returning series appear to be big reasons why many people worldwide tuned into streaming services in 2022.
Using zero-party data from YouGov Safe’s fully opt-in, cross-device tracker, a new YouGov report uncovers the most searched, most binged, and most streamed movies and television programs, bringing to you the most popular TV shows globally. The titles are ranked by Appetite Score—an aggregate of indexed search volume and Wikipedia views for an entity.
With so many streaming players vying for viewers’ attention last year, you can find out who had the standout TV shows below.
The most popular series of 2022
Netflix content continues to dominate globally. Nine of the top 20 most popular global TV shows are Netflix originals, including the highly anticipated new seasons of Stranger Things, Bridgerton, and Money Heist.
Other shows continue to prove their enduring popularity in global entertainment and culture. These include Friends, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Pokémon and The Simpsons.
The data also reveals that sports have cemented their role in streaming culture. The UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, are two of the most popular TV shows in our ranking.
Popular new series of 2022
There were plenty of new shows to keep track of last year and research reveals that some captured the attention of steaming audiences more than others.
Netflix again claims the most titles on our list of most popular new TV series, with 10 of the top 20 spots. Wednesday, a Netflix original, sits at the top of the list with a global appetite score of 91.66.
Several non-English TV shows also earn spots on the list, showing the global demand for both international titles and a range of different genres including anime (Ranking of Kings), South Korean romance (The Office Blind Date or Business Proposal) and zombie dramas (All of Us Are Dead).
Fresh shows from HBO Max such as House of the Dragon and Peacemakers and those from Amazon Prime Video like Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power and Reacher were also popular among global audiences last year.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Andor were the two Disney+ titles to claim spots in YouGov's most popular new TV series in 2022.
